Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 25, 2026 · Last updated: August 14, 2026
Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Corvus Contracting ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects personal information when you visit corvuscontractingbc.com (the "Site") or submit a form to us. We serve homeowners and contractors on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.
We handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), and the consent requirements of Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
If our practices change, we will update this policy and revise the "Last updated" date above.
What we collect
We collect only what you choose to share through our forms, plus limited technical information needed to operate the Site securely.
Walkthrough / quote request
When you request a project walkthrough or quote, we may collect:
- your name and email address (required);
- your phone number, city or area, and project type;
- a description of your project;
- when you hope to start the work;
- your preferred days and times for a follow-up call;
- photos you upload of the work to be done; and
- your consent to be contacted.
Ask a question
When you send us a question, we collect your name, email address, the category of your question, the question itself, and your consent to be contacted.
Contractor application
When you apply to work with us as a contractor, we collect your name, email address, your trade, your service area, and your consent to be contacted. You may also provide your phone number and additional notes.
We record when you gave consent by submitting a form.
Jobs sent to us by a partner
We work with trade partners — painting companies, contractors, and property managers — who pass work to us. Approved partners have an invitation-only login where they can send us a job on a client's behalf. When they do, we collect the client's name, phone number, job-site address, an optional email address, a description of the work, and an optional preferred date.
If your details were sent to us this way, they came from the partner you are already working with, not from us. The partner confirms at the time of sending that they have your permission to share them with us, and we record who sent the job and when. We use these details only to quote and carry out the work, exactly as if you had contacted us yourself. You can ask us at any time what we hold, or ask us to delete it — see Your rights below.
Partners can see the status of the jobs they sent us and, when the partner is the one paying us, the quote amount for that job. Partners never see anything about work they did not send us, and when the job is a referral — meaning we bill you directly — the partner is not shown any amounts at all.
Portal accounts
For partners with a portal login, we store the email address the account is under and the company it belongs to. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never visible to us.
Technical information
Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure may automatically log standard technical data to keep the Site secure and available. We do not use advertising or analytics trackers on the public Site.
Why we use your information
We use your information to:
- respond to your inquiry, question, or application;
- follow up about your project;
- schedule a call at a time that works for you; and
- review project photos you share so we can prepare.
We contact you based on the consent you give on the form. The consent checkbox is never pre-checked.
Consent and marketing (CASL)
We use your contact details to reply to the request you submitted. If we ever send optional marketing messages, each message will include a clear way to unsubscribe. You may withdraw consent at any time by emailing [email protected].
Service providers
We use trusted service providers to host the Site and store form submissions securely. They process information only on our instructions and are required to protect it. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
Some providers may store or process information outside Canada. When that applies, your information may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction.
How we protect your information
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) when you submit forms. Access to your information is limited to people who need it to respond to your request.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information appropriately.
How long we keep your information
We keep information only as long as needed for the purpose it was provided — generally up to three years after our last contact with you — unless a longer period is required by law. You may ask us to delete it sooner.
Cookies
The public Site does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Essential cookies may be used only where needed for basic website operation. If we add non-essential cookies in the future, we will update this policy first.
Your rights
Under PIPEDA and BC PIPA, you may:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- request deletion of your information; and
- withdraw consent to be contacted.
Email [email protected] to exercise these rights.
If we cannot resolve your concern, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca) or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia (oipc.bc.ca).
Children
The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do.
